The always poignant Veterans Day ceremony in Suffern at the intersection of Washington & Lafayette Avenues wasn’t where the observance ended; it marked the beginning of a very special day that portrayed the absolute best of the best and showed the children in attendance what this country is truly all about.
After our Veterans were honored with the traditional ceremony, those gathered then traveled down to the baseball complex and congregated at the “E” commuter parking lot.
Sean M. Flynn, a highly decorated Navy Seal from Suffern was honored by the Suffern Parking Authority as a commemorative plaque was unveiled and the “E” lot was dedicated to the memory of our hometown hero and renamed the “F” lot.
Friends of Chief Petty Officer Flynn travelled to Suffern from Virginia Beach, VA for the dedication and to pay tribute to their fallen friend. The Sean Flynn “Blue Skies” Sarcoma Foundation raises money for research and to assist families with children in treatment. Donations can be sent to:
