As part of its continuing effort to focus on Rockland’s small as well as start-up businesses, Rockland Economic Development Corporation (REDC), in partnership with Rockland County Executive, C. Scott Vanderhoef and Rockland County Clerk, Paul Piperato, is hosting a free small business workshop offering new and existing small business owners the unique opportunity to meet one-on-one with representatives from county and state agencies and to learn more about the programs and services available, including but not limited to: successful business planning, small business loans, financing assistance programs, market analysis, marketing strategy, selling to the government, and more.

Michael DiTullo, REDC’s President and CEO said, “We feel it’s important to reach out to all businesses―big and small, to promote the many resources available to our business community. Our commitment to supporting Rockland’s economic vitality and its varied businesses is an on-going process.”

“We’re very pleased that there opportunities―like this workshop, that advocate the programs and services that support existing as well as flourishing small businesses. We’re particularly happy that, collaboratively, the event underscores the importance of Rockland’s small and diverse business sectors to the health of the local economy,” said C. Scott Vanderhoef.

County Clerk Paul Piperato added, “In these economic times, many Rockland residents are interested in exploring the idea of opening up their own business. It is our hope that they will take advantage of this free workshop, which is specifically designed to help them thrive.”

In addition, Oscar, Nordstrom, Sr., President, Nordstrom Contracting and a U.S. military veteran, will be on hand to share his personal small business success story.

Participating agencies include: REDC, New York State Small Business Development Center, Rockland County SCORE, and the Westchester/Rockland Revolving Loan Program.
