Ramapo Man Charged in $84k Credit Card Theft
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe today announced that Charles Lafasciano (DOB 10/25/50) of Pomona, New York has been charged with one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony.
Lafasciano serves as Secretary and Treasurer of Zenedge, Inc., an energy drink company specializing in motocross events, a division of York Side Enterprises Inc
Between September 2007 and April 2011, the defendant is accused of opening over 25 credit card accounts using the information of both companies without permission or authority.
According to the charges, Lafasciano used the credit cards for various personal expenses, including retail purchases, dining and his own mortgage payments.
The defendant is accused of stealing more than $84,000 by repeatedly making unauthorized personal charges to the credit accounts.
The arrest of the defendant resulted from an investigation conducted by the Rockland County Special Investigations Unit.
Lafasciano was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court by the Honorable Scott Ugell on July 25, 2011. He was released after posting $3500 bail.
He is due to return to court on August 8, 2011.
The defendant faces up to fifteen years in state prison, if convicted.
