Breitbart, Limbaugh, Fluke--No Shortage of Partisan Dookies in the Pool as Speech and Religious Freedoms Come Under Attack

I'm fairly confident that Sandra Fluke is not a slut.  It's probably a safe bet that she's not a prostitute either.  Rush Limbaugh it's fairly safe to say is an addict, a bully and a blowhard but that's history not news.

The man is an entertainer.  The same way that Jon Stewart is an entertainer.  They both get paid a considerable amount of money to say outrageous crap.

The primary difference from what I see is that Jon Stewart is a liberal on a comedy network poking fun at media and conservatives admittedly from a fake news show.

Rush Limbaugh is a conservative on a news network poking fun at liberals from a real news show.

Although not a slut or a prostitute, Sandra Fluke doesn't get off the hook here however. Sticking with facts and not conjecture, she went from a 23 year old coed to a 30 year old woman's rights activist.  I'm not sure where the discrepancy came from and if Ms. Fluke had a hand in misrepresenting herself, she should be called onto the carpet.

Denying her the right to speak is wrong.  Enrolling in a religious institution of higher learning with the stated goal of changing their policy regarding contraception is wrong.  Georgetown is a Jesuit Institution.  She knew that when she enrolled.  That's right, she is quoted as talking about how she reviewed Georgetown’s insurance policy prior to committing to attend the institution, and seeing that it didn’t cover contraceptive services, she decided to attend with the express purpose of battling this policy.

Imposing her beliefs upon a religious-based institution is wrong.  I'm sure that Ms. Fluke does not speak for all women nor does she speak for all Catholics and I think it's pretty safe to say she doesn't speak for the Pope. One does not have to agree with someone’s religious beliefs but should respect their right to maintain and practice those beliefs.

What she is trying to impose on a Catholic institution, regardless of whether or not you agree with the contraceptive provisions of Obama Care or not, is tantamount to joining a synagogue and then railing against circumcision, Kosher practices and bar mitzvahs.

Religious freedoms are under attack in this country.  Christianity has been under attack for years, but everyone's religious beliefs are now firmly under attack.  One atheist in the crowd and any and all forms of religious expression is banned from public buildings.  Atheists are entitled to their beliefs or non-beliefs if you'd like to call them that.  The minority does not have the right to impose their beliefs upon the majority.  People of all faiths need to stand together to protect religious freedoms.

The Village of Suffern this year, for the first time in many years will have an EASTER egg hunt and the EASTER Bunny will pay a visit.  A CHRISTMAS tree will be lit and Santa Claus will pay a visit to all children who choose to attend the event.  CHANUKAH will also be celebrated in Suffern as I fully expect the Chabad Jewish Center to return for their MENORAH lighting and the festivities that go along with it.  Rabbi Gancz are you reading this?  As we discussed, I expect your organization to exceed the already high expectations that are already in place and as we discussed and I promised, Ramapo Times will help to promote the event.

I would like to see our Muslim and other religious neighbors celebrate their religious observances openly as well.

Celebrate and appreciate differences and be tolerant, don't impose your religious or ideological will onto others.

Ms. Fluke, I am sorry that you were attacked by Rush Limbaugh and I suggest that you stay the hell out of people's religious beliefs.  And I suggest that Rush Limbaugh should stay the hell out of your sex life.  While I'm at it, I'll suggest that Rush stay away from the pill bottle as well as that's the only reason for his outrageous behavior that I can fathom other than the fact that he gets paid a ton of money to say constitutionally protected outrageous crap.

Rush Limbaugh is entitled to freedom of speech.  You don't have to like what the man says or agree with what the man says, but you should respect the man's right to say it.  The same way that he and Congressman Issa should have respected Ms. Fluke's freedom of speech and she should have been allowed her to present her opinions and ideas.

So I think that most rational people can see that Ms. Fluke was treated unfairly by Rush Limbaugh and Ms. Fluke is also trying to unfairly impose her will onto others' religious beliefs.

But wait, there's more...

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) said:
"If the far right can attack people like Sandra Fluke, women are going to be afraid to speak because they're going to be called terrible words. It's an attempt to silence people that are speaking out for women."

Please Ms. Maloney, stop with the partisan, sanctimonious crap.  The far right cannot speak unless of course there is someone actually named "Far Right". Perhaps he has a brother named "Far Left" and they have cousins named Heat Miser and Snow Miser.  If this is the case I will apologize to Rep. Maloney. Otherwise Maloney is full of baloney and has plenty of Dookies floating in her pool.

Rush Limbaugh does not speak for the far right nor for anyone other than himself.  He's just a guy enjoying his freedom of speech while floating in a pool filled to overflowing with an abundance of Dookies.

Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see Rep. Maloney or many on the "Far Left" condemn those who gleefully celebrated Andrew Breitbart's passing.

In all fairness, Media Matters had this to say:

“Media Matters has a long history with Andrew Breitbart,” said Ari Rabin-Havt, part of the liberal watchdog that frequently went after Breitbart. “We’ve disagreed more than we’ve found common ground, but there was never any question of Andrew’s passion for and commitment to what he believed.”

I'm no more a fan of media matters than I was of Andrew Breitbart's but they certainly showed decency and compassion and for that they should be commended.

So, we should rush to the defense of someone who is attacked by a guy highly paid to do just what he did while at the same time she tries to impose her views on religious institutions but say nothing when people celebrate a man's passing?

Okay, is it just me or am I missing something here people?

The man, regardless of his beliefs and opinions was the father to four YOUNG children and a husband.  I haven't seen where he murdered, raped, maimed or otherwise physically harmed anyone.  I missed where the man sanctioned genocide or molested children.

I wasn’t a fan and I'm not suggesting that he be made into a heroic figure but isn't some common decency toward the deceased, regardless of your political views warranted?  He certainly expressed his views and had a sharp tongue to match his sharp keyboard but take a look at the Tweets gathered by The Blaze below:

I suppose that these people are really proud of themselves.  "Hey mom... Look what I cowardly wrote about a dead guy in order to impress my friends!!  Aren't you proud of me?" and "I can't wait to get to the office to show all of my co-workers just how cool and witty I am.  I can take a cheap shot all by myself!!"  

Hitler?  Didn't Hank Williams Jr. get the boot from ESPN for much less? 

Message to @darrenfiorello: Yeah, it is wrong.  

I could easily come up with some pretty nasty remarks for most of these 'macho' commenters but they too are entitled to their freedom of speech.  The best part is that their right to freedom of speech exposes them for the types of people that they really are and I suppose these people are living proof of why the high road is so desolate.

Now go back to Rep. Maloney's quote in support of Sandra Fluke.  Substitute a few words, Andrew Breitbart for Sandra Fluke, far left for far right, conservatives for women and read it again.  Go on, humor me.  Re-read Rep. Maloney's quote while making the suggested substitutions.  

Can we be honest and objective for just a moment?  When you get to the absolute essence of both issues, what's the real difference other than ideological lines drawn in the sand?

Same Dookies, different pool. 

The partisan nastiness may buy people a sound bite, fifteen minutes of fame and some false sense of bravado as they preach to their own choir, but at the cost of their humanity it remains a steep price to pay.
